About us
Since 1895 the Master Painters’ of Victoria has provided support to and represented employers engaged in painting, decorating and sign writing industry as the professional employer association for those trades. In 1997 the MPAV welcomed Tasmanian members into the new broader association, The Master Painters’ Association of Victoria and Tasmania.
The Association’s core member services include.
- Technical advice and support to its members and the industry
- Promotion of the Master Painters members and improvements of industry standards
- Technical and skills training directly or through partnerships
- Industrial relations and workplace relations advice and support for members
- Mediation and disputes resolution
- Connecting customers with members of the Master Painters and a skilled worker job board
- Payment resolution support for members
- Reducing costs for members through discounts and resources
In addition to these front-line services, the Master Painters’ of Victoria and Tasmania represents the industry’s best interests through industry advisory boards, committees, and forums with industry parties, the wider community and Government. The Master Painters’ of Victoria and Tasmania provides value through its subject matter expertise, as a channel for member feedback and as a representative of the painting, decorating and sign writing industry. It has a long history of contributing to increasing understanding, working to resolve industry issues, improving industry practices and collaborating on the development of new products.
The Master Painters’ of Victoria and Tasmania Board has developed a new 5-year strategy to address the challenges that face our members and the industry. As part of the new strategy the organisational Purpose and Vision were updated.

The Master Painters’ Association of Victoria Limited is a company limited by guarantee and is a not-for-profit organisation.
The head office is based in Melbourne Victoria and the Association covers the states of Victoria and Tasmania.

The Master Painters’ Association of Victoria and Tasmania is a member of the federal body since 1913, The Master Painters Australia Ltd.
The Master Painters’ Association of Victoria and Tasmania is a member of The Finishing Trades Association of Australia (FTAA).
The Master Painters’ Association of Victoria and Tasmania is a member of The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
